Roofing Materials We Install

Whatever Your Roof Needs, We'll Tell You Straight

At Mountain View, we know roofing materials—it's what we do. We attend industry conventions and seminars every year so our knowledge stays current, and we'll give you an honest recommendation on which material fits your home and your budget. No upsell pressure. Just 26 years of Treasure Valley roofing expertise.

ASPHALT SHINGLES

Asphalt Shingles

About 90% of new roofs in Boise are asphalt shingles—and there's a good reason for that. When temperatures swing from 50°F in the morning to 95°F in the afternoon, you need a material that handles constant expansion and contraction without cracking or curling. Asphalt does exactly that, better than anything else at its price point. It's also architecturally appealing, adding dimension and curb appeal to your home. For most Treasure Valley homeowners, asphalt shingles are the right answer—and we'll tell you if they're right for yours.

METAL ROOFING

Metal Roofing

Metal roofing is a mountain-town mainstay—especially in Valley County, where heavy snow loads make its ability to shed rain and snow a genuine advantage. It has a long lifespan and looks sharp, but it comes at a higher cost than asphalt. If you're weighing metal against other options, we'll walk you through the trade-offs honestly. Mountain View installs both standing seam and corrugated barn metal roofing.

TILE ROOFING

Tile Roofing

Tile roofing—flat tile or S-curved—has a distinctive look and impressive longevity. It's the exotic option: beautiful and long-lasting, but heavier than other materials, which means your roof structure needs to be assessed and may need reinforcement before installation. Re-roof projects involving tile tend to run higher in cost. If tile is on your radar, we'll give you a straight assessment of whether your home is a good candidate.

FLAT ROOF MEMBRANES

Flat Roof Membranes

Flat roof membranes are the right call for commercial buildings and residential patios or additions with little to no slope. Depending on your project, we'll recommend either TPO (a plastic-and-rubber membrane) or a torch-down APP Modified Bitumen system. Both are lightweight and affordable. They're also more maintenance-sensitive than pitched roofs, so we'll be upfront about the trade-offs and what to expect over time.

OTHER MATERIALS

Other Materials

Most of our customers go with asphalt, metal, tile, or flat membrane—but occasionally a project calls for something specific. We've installed cedar shakes, plastic and metal shingles, rubber shingles, and other specialty materials you may have seen online but rarely find on Boise rooftops. We evaluate these jobs case by case, looking at both the installation requirements and our honest professional opinion of the product. If you've got something unusual in mind, bring it up—we'll give you a straight answer.
